Hi Timothy,
I am using kSOAP, and it works great. You are correct about the size. My application is up to 114k. However, it installs and runs fine on the phone even thought it's obviously a bit over the recommended size :D :D. I sure hope new phones come with a bit more resources. I am still working on getting my application bellow this size.

One thing to note is that you can remove the WAP folder ( I believe that is what is called) and the related files if you won't be using this capability from the kXML package. This buys you a bit more space.

I have not found any mayor problems with kSOAP, a few bugs here and there but the guys in charge of the project fixed them all, they are super helpful you can signup on their email group to get the latest info. The new version should be up to date. Note, I actually download  and compile the code along with my app. I think some people had problems using the .jar.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

My apologies if this question has been asked
before. I just tried to search the archive and got
a template not found error.

Has anyone tested kSOAP on either the Motorola i85
or i50? If so what where the results?

I gave the package a look and before we give it a
try I thought I would ask the group. No sense
recreating the wheel.

One initial concerns I have is that Motorola
recommends that apps, delivered as a compressed
JAR, should exceed 50k. With kXML and kSOAP
included, there is very little room left for any
application logic. Correct?
